Pink Mage is a collective of sound-makers who thrive on auditory experimentation, embracing the unpredictable nature of improvisation. With no set genre boundaries, they blend elements of dark ambient, noise, drone, avant-garde classical, and others, creating an environment where every performance is unique. Pink Mage’s live shows are a celebration of timbre and melody as physical and psychological forces, where swells of distortion contrast with ethereal vocal loops to form a sound world that is at once abrasive and transcendent. Navigating a variety of synthesizers, fretted strings, woodwinds, percussion instruments, and effects pedals, the multi-instrumentalist members of Pink Mage draw upon a vast palette of sound colors. Each improvised composition is a journey, often flowing from quiet, subtle textures to intense sonic maelstroms before disintegrating back into the abyss.
