ābirūn was formed in 2025 by Sina M Fard and Conor Abbott Brown after meeting at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague. The duo centers their practice on analog synthesis and the interpretation of texts. By iterating through modular patches to transform poetic contours into music, ābirūn reveals hidden currents within language.

Sina M Fard (b. 1987, Iran) is a composer, sound artist and researcher whose work investigates the political dimensions of sound and collective memory. Conor Abbott Brown (b. 1988, United States) is a composer, synthesist, and orchestrator whose hybrid aesthetics stem from a commitment to multiple musical traditions. While collaborating Fard leans toward linguistic aspects and Brown toward technical implementation, but the borders in their process are porous — both engage in conceptual deconstruction of source texts, the design of synthesizer patches, and the building of compositional systems.
